[Cranach gown] Almost finished... | Aug. 29th, 2006 @ 10:55 pm |

I thought I shouldn't leave you in the dark about my progress on the Cranach-gown, after posting my initial planning on it...:
(The link on each picture will lead you to my corresponding webpage for that item) The skirt: The neckring: The Brustfleck (of which I have started two and finished one version): The bodice: And the sleeves:
I am still simultaneously working on finishing the sleeves and to make the chemise. Just three more days to go - the whole dress needs to be finished on saturday!
I appreciate any input on my work so far!
Best wishes, Naergi |
Woah. That's just amazing! And I agree with you about the fabric (heheehe - "Naergi/velvet=OTP" - we need an icon!)
I'm also in awe of the neckring. How's fimo to wear, by the way? Doesn't it chaffe the skin or stick to it?
And thanks for the review-plug. :)
"OTP"? *Confused, but I'm almost sure it's nothing too mean... ;-) Fimo is beautiful to wear, feels a bit like 'warmed up Moosgummi' (what the hell is Moosgummi in English...?) to the skin. The gold leaf is just on the 'outside', because it would wear off too fast on the inside, and the sticky leaf glue would get in contact with the skin... I can make you a ring if you like? I'm currently making two for other friends, so a third wouldn't be too much more work... ;-) The review plug was mandatory, if I find something cool on the net I have no problems right away linking to it. One of my board users, Siouxie, also has links to 'Elf on a Shelf' on her site and all others at least *know* it; so the people there fangrrrrl you anyway... ;-) By the way, did you find my reply to your 'swiss national costume' with the link to that historic book? It's really beautiful.
AHAHAHHA! No, it's not mean. It's "One True Pairing" - the obvious lovers. :)
That sounds good - I never worked with Fimo, but my sister did. She didn't make jewellery, though, but thingies for doll houses, miniatures etc.
Ring? *megasmile* Wow, that would be awesome! :O Are you sure you have the time? If so, let me know how much it would cost and how to ship the money to you, I'd love to have one! :D Thank you!
I'm often surprised when I check my hits where they come from, and WHAT people link to. That's a science all in itself...
Yes, I saw the post, but I'm once again waaaaaaaaaaay behind with all the mail and work my way from top to bottom. I'll have a closer look at it tomorrow.
Ah, so *that's*OTP! *lol*... I just looked it up on Google and thought... huh... password...? I wouldn't call that thing velvet and I share 'love'. It's more a hate relationship, as it's utterly ugly to sew. But I love the color of my personal special garnet red dye recipe a lot, so I always take the task of sewing it. Plus, that's the only kind of red (a bit darker than 'real red') that I can wear without looking as if I died ~400 years ago...;-)
Ring? Payment? Good grief! Let me put it this way: I'll make it, send it to you, and if you like it, you can paypal me whatever you think it's worth... I totally suck at making prices for something like this, and considering that it just takes about 3 hours of work - of which I'm most of the time waiting for it to bake or the leaf / rhinestone glue to dry - it's really not much work. Any special wishes? I don't know if I can manage to incorporate a frog into the design, but I'll try...
Just wanted to check if you *saw* my reply; considering the amount of answers you get to your postings I wasn't sure if you had the 'email message' option turned on without being practically buried in emails... ;-)
Well, the colour is absolutely stunning.
OK, we have a deal then! :-D No special wishes, I leave it up to you, as long as there's nothing "goldy" about it.
I saw your reply - I usually try to answer to every message I get, but as you see, sometimes it gets a bit much, and then I can't catch up anymore. But I try my best. :)
I must ask: Nothing 'goldy' means what? No leaf gilding? (I must sound incredibly dumb, thanks, I know that....)
